Our character development programs by grade are tailored to a specific developmental level, using Steve Harris's boxing-inspired framework of rounds, corners, training, and resets. Students learn to see themselves as champions in progress—practicing new skills, taking breaks in their "corner" for support, and stepping back into the ring with courage and character.
K-2: The Champion Within: I Can Be Brave
In grades K–2, "I Can Be Brave" helps students build courage, kindness, and healthy choices as they learn what it means to be a good friend and a strong teammate. Through simple movement-based activities tied to Steve Harris's boxing metaphors, children practice naming their feelings, trusting the adults in their corner, and setting small goals they can reach. Students learn that being brave doesn't mean not being scared -- it means trying again anyway.
3-5: The Champion Within: Get Back in the Ring
In grades 3–5, "Get Back in the Ring" helps students build resilience, teamwork, and responsibility in the face of real-life challenges. Through interactive activities, they practice conflict resolution, goal-setting, and everyday leadership in the classroom, on the playground, and at home. Students learn that mistakes are part of the training process—and that champions recover, reset, and step back in with a stronger game plan.
Preschool (Ages 3-5): The Champion Within: Little Champions -- Brave Hearts, Helping Hands
Our Preschool (Ages 3–5) program, "Little Champions: Brave Hearts, Helping Hands," is a 30–40 minute, high-energy experience designed just for early learners. Through songs, stories, and simple movement, children explore Be Brave, Kind Hands, Big Feelings, My Corner (trusted helpers), and Get Back Up after small setbacks. The focus is on building a warm, safe foundation where little champions practice kindness, courage, and self-control in age-appropriate ways.

Learning Extensions
The Champion Within: Speak Like a Champion — traditional classroom curriculum with ESOL and ESE differentiation supporting storytelling, oral communication, persuasive speaking, confidence, and student showcases.
The Champion Within: The Corner Before Me — Black History Month assembly or classroom unit grounded in boxing history, historical literacy, character, and student voice.
ESE Hands-On Experience — a specially designed hands-on presentation, $800 (standard ESE participation planning remains included).
Parent / Family Night — same-day add-on experience for families and trusted adults, +$1,500.
Breakfast Program — hosted school/community breakfast experience, +$800 (food, venue, and catering not included).
Teacher In-Service — educator workshop on Champion Within tools, classroom reinforcement, student communication, and inclusive implementation, +$800.
Access and Inclusion
Standard ESOL and ESE access support is included. We use visual supports, clear routines, flexible participation options, sentence frames, alternative communication pathways, and collaborative planning with school staff. The Champion Within provides educational programming and does not diagnose, treat, or replace clinical or related services.
